I have always been fascinated by how people live their lives and interact with others. My belief is that previous experiences and relationships have shaped how we live our lives, and sometimes that works out easily, and other times that’s very difficult for us.

I believe in offering my honest self, in a supportive and caring way. I am honoured to be invited to hear your story to help create positive change. I truly care for all my clients and work hard to help you feel better. It is most important to me that those seeking therapy feel safe, heard, and understood. Finding the right therapist is important and vital to the counselling process. Being vulnerable is not easy and having a therapist that is non-judgemental and open is absolutely necessary. My goal is to help you find what the root of the issue is. I specialize in working through relational and childhood trauma, attachment and relationship difficulties, anxiety, parenting and family conflict, boundary difficulties and self-esteem. The modalities I use are Gottman Method (for couples), Attachment-Based models, CBT, and DBT primarily.

I work with individuals, couples, and families. I am a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s Degree and have practiced in the field of counselling and mental health for almost 16 years. I am extremely committed and passionate about this work, and dedicated to helping you in any way I can.

Trust and building relationships are two of the biggest foundations of my practice in working with others. I work hard to create an open and safe environment where clients can feel supported to work through their difficulties and challenges. It is important to me that clients feel they can be open and honest as they share the obstacles they face. I believe it takes courage to reach out for support and consider it an honour and a privilege to work collaboratively with my clients to reach their goals.

I grew up in Manitoba and have called Calgary home since 2012. I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Calgary and have worked with children, adolescents, adults, parents and families throughout my 12 years of counselling experience.

My areas of specialization include trauma-based difficulties, child and adolescent behavioral challenges, parenting and family-based conflict, and addiction.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Collaborative Problem Solving, Attachment and Strength-based approaches, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy.

I have always been drawn to working with people and knew from a young age that I would work in a helping capacity. I consider it an honour to learn about each person’s unique journey. It is important to me that clients feel heard, safe, and understood as they work through the challenges that brought them to therapy.

I am a Registered Social Worker and have focused my career on psychotherapy and the addiction and mental health field. My therapy practice is informed by Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic approaches.

I grew up on the west coast and have called Calgary home since 2017. My approach is compassionate, honest, collaborative, and direct. I believe therapy should feel like a comfortable and thought-provoking conversation, as well as being an opportunity to learn new tools to handle life’s challenges. Building an authentic therapeutic relationship with my clients is the foundation of my work, and it is a privilege to do so.

While it might feel overwhelming and intimidating, beginning this journey is the first and hardest step to understanding and owning your personal story to honor your past, show compassion to your present, and believe in your future.

My philosophy is grounded in being a lifelong learner, which in this work means I am constantly adapting to the needs of each individual I serve in order to meet you where you are in your journey. I do not believe that people are only the sum of symptoms they are experiencing, therefore I practice from a strengths-based, trauma informed lens with a focus on holistic practice, which views you as a part of the complex environment in which you are living.

Much of my therapeutic approaches are based in the Cognitive Behavioral Model to best achieve balance between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I draw on a range of perspectives in order to achieve results for your unique and individual needs including Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Attachment-Based theories.

I am a Registered Social Worker through the Alberta College of Social Workers. I have been lucky enough to have experienced working in mental health within an array of settings within the hospital, live-in residential treatment programs and in community based not-for-profit organizations for almost 10 years. My area of specialty is working with anxiety, depression, self-esteem/self-worth, complex attachment, trauma, and parent-child relationship difficulties for adolescents, adults, and families.

It is my belief that there is a therapist out there for everyone, so I welcome further discussion about your individual needs to ensure you receive services from someone that helps you feel safe and connected with to help you reach your desired goals.
